Here’s another angle.

The wall mounted vases add something interesting to the wall. You can make these you know, check out this old post to see how. I’m also a fan of how the frames are hung almost all the way down to the baseboard. I imagine small kiddos do not inhabit this photo shoot.

This is now under the rug on our 60-year-old hardwood floor.

The interweb tells us that if we soak a paper towel in hydrogen peroxide and lay it on the stain for a few hours it will help. Otherwise we will have to sand and refinish over the stain.

Here’s hoping.

Besides the whole orangey pink, hard plastic-like upholstery these entire chairs are pretty great.

A friend of mine who is a Realtor with Urban Durham sent them my way after they were left behind in a home he was selling. So I got them for next to nothing. Thanks Brandon! Now all I have to do is gussy them up a bit.

There is good booth news coming up soon, so that’s just where these babies will be headed as soon as I can find the right upholstery fabric. Here are some thoughts as of 10:15 last night. Subject to change.

Custom home renderings, AKA a drawing of the outside of your hiz-ouse, make such personal artwork for the inside of your hiz-ouse. We’ve purchased one in the past as a gift for my mother for Christmas, which she absolutely loved, and have always planned to eventually have one done for our own home.

Then the lovely Jennifer of Jennifer Marie Designs beat us to it. She just sent us a rendering of little grey casa and is offering a custom drawing to one of our lucky readers too! Does it look just like our house? Such a great keepsake.

We’ve framed ours in an IKEA RIBBA frame and hung it on the kitchen wall.

Our refrigerator is officially covered with those little save the date magnets and wedding invitations from all over the place.

Before we were engaged it sure felt like Chad and I were the only ones who weren’t married – and of course I felt the need to tell him this from time to time. Yet somehow, almost three years later the invites keep coming.

With one of us in residency it’s pretty tough to get away to all the events, but we managed a trip to Austin this weekend for Chad’s cousin’s wedding thanks to one very generous grandma. Have we told you guys how wonderful our family is?

So today we give you the wedding of Brett and Kate. It was held at Spicewood Vineyards. In keeping with the wine theme, the couple’s favors were monogrammed corkscrews/wine pulls. But we had to leave ours behind – we’re carry on people not checkers.

Loved the pillow with their wedding date on it and the chandeliers hanging from trees. Classy but comfortable. This wedding had so many personal touches that really made you feel special for being included. And white wine sangria which also makes me feel special for other reasons.

 The groom’s cake was made by his mother, out of Rice Krispy treats.

Congrats to one very happy couple – and our new cousin Kate!

Painting a ceiling and lightening up your furnishings can make such a difference! The upholstered chairs have a stripe running down the center of each? Did you see? A little funky but very subtle.

The overall niceness of these two fabrics does not come through very well in this photograph, but I’m pretty excited and think that the pillows will come out great. You’ll get photos as soon as their finished.

Oh, and these two fabric choices came from the remnant section of Hancock Fabric. It’s a great place to get designer prints for only $5 a yard and perfect for pillow makers such as myself.
