What Do You See?
Ink Blots are my new jam. Well, my new jam as in we-don’t-have-any-but-they-seem-d.i.y-able jam.
It started when I found these via Vagabond Vintage.
Muey bonita in the I’m-not-a-shrink-but-play-one-on-tv kind of way.

A Country Chic Bedroom
I think tonight I will close my eyes and pretend that this is my bedroom.
Photo: Country Living
It is perhaps too feminine for the husband to allow it but that’s kind of what I like so much. Look at those massive flowers! Too bad each of those prints will run you about $1400 each from here. I do not tell a lie.
Good thing you could probably just paint your own for m-u-c-h less, and choose flowers that are much more personal to your tastes. I might recommend a dandelion.
The wood furniture is all the same tone and the same weight visually – somewhat delicate with thin legs, but still carefully mismatched to be perfectly interesting. The pale pink chair paired with the bold blue trunk add just the right impact of color around the room. And nothing competes for attention with those flowers, except maybe the height of the antique bed. A lovely combination for sure.
This little room gives me warm fuzzies like nothing but granny floral bedding mixed with ikat pillows can.
If I Were Beyonce & Jay’s Baby
I would request a Hermes tray to sit beside my crib. In each of my three nurseries.
See why below.

Where else would I keep my golden bottles?
There’s one available for sale here. $470, others are as high as $2 g’s.
Ah, one day.
The former, not the later.
Staffordshire Dogs: They Won’t Kill Bunnies
Moving away from our post last night about Lucy’s murderous activities and onto a much quieter breed – Staffordshire dogs. All we can say is that they are so ugly they are cute.
Photo: House Beautiful
According to this article, these Staffordshire spaniels were manufacturered in England with the goal of providing affordable home decor to working class families. Check.
Somehow along the way these little pups became super chic collectors items. A lot of reproductions exist out there, but the good news is that this means we can all have a pair.

We are no professional collectors so we won’t begin to dole out advice on how to shop for these not-so-furry friends. Alls we know is that if you’re looking for a very classic way to add some fun to your mantel or bookshelves consider buying a set of these pups. They’ll stand the test of time and you’re likely to find an inexpensive pair pretty easily online *cough* here *cough.*

Seriously. How could you not love their little smushed, crazy-eyed ceramic faces?
If Your Drawers Could Talk
I have long been a fan of this photo and cannot even remember where I found, and therefore cannot source it for you. However it is a great idea for whomever did it originally.
All you really need is IKEA and a Sharpee.
Okay, so I wouldn’t just use a sharpee, maybe a black paint pen or even a brush. Either way it would be pretty easy. The colored knobs are a nice touch too.
What would your drawers say?
Mine: diamonds, lady things, cookie pants
A Man and Woman With A Plan
So we’ve been out of the DIY and decor game for a few weeks now. Our last really messy project was painting stripes inside the living room bar closet. But it was pretty small potatoes, there was no real mess and my Boom Boom jeans were even spared. See the details here.
We’ve really been itching to get our hands dirty and to show you guys all of the details along the way – hopefully after the holidays we’ll be back into full DIY swing with a combination of both indoor and outdoor projects. Isn’t it funny how a holiday can totally railroad you for a few weeks?
In the meantime here are our current thoughts behind our 2nd guest bedroom, last seen looking like this:
The goal is to have it looking more like this sooner rather than later.
An inexpensive knock-off of the above will do just fine. A nice mixture of colorful fabrics, bold furniture and natural (read: pup friendly) textures.
Anyone want to come help me convert the dresser?
