Our Story
Hola! I’m Amy, and he’s Chad. In addition to us we have two little fur monsters named Barton and Lucy. These pound puppies are the bee’s knees and may as well be our children. Seriously we’re obsessed.
Barton and I are from Alabama, Lucy and Chad are native Texans and bleed burnt orange. Two years ago we all loaded up a van and moved from Texas to North Carolina for the hubs job - about a week after our wedding. Now if you do the math, we are not technically honeymooners anymore, but you don’t really want to burst our bubble do you?
After meeting in North Carolina in 2003, we had no doubts that we would love our new home here and have not been disappointed. Although we met in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, the Triangle area has been good to us. We (and the bank) share a small half-acre of earth in Durham. We try to take care of it – in fact it has really become our pride and joy. If you follow our blog you’ll learn way more than you every wanted to about our little casa like how we updated the kitchen, added some pizazz to our bathroom, and what Chad buys when he goes to the grocery store. You know, the important things.
We both have full time gigs outside of the house, Chad works here in Durham, and I work in Raleigh. But when we aren’t bringing home the bacon we’re cooking it up and probably giving it a coat of paint if it sits still long enough. And you’ll get to see all of the pictures. 
Since starting our blog last year we’ve been featured on Apartment Therapy, the DIY Show-Off and quite a few other design blogs. Crazy right? We’ve also scooped up a gig with Durham Magazine where we author a weekly column to spread the local DIY love. You can check it all out right here.
