A Man and Woman With A Plan
So we’ve been out of the DIY and decor game for a few weeks now. Our last really messy project was painting stripes inside the living room bar closet. But it was pretty small potatoes, there was no real mess and my Boom Boom jeans were even spared. See the details here.
We’ve really been itching to get our hands dirty and to show you guys all of the details along the way – hopefully after the holidays we’ll be back into full DIY swing with a combination of both indoor and outdoor projects. Isn’t it funny how a holiday can totally railroad you for a few weeks?
In the meantime here are our current thoughts behind our 2nd guest bedroom, last seen looking like this:
The goal is to have it looking more like this sooner rather than later.
An inexpensive knock-off of the above will do just fine. A nice mixture of colorful fabrics, bold furniture and natural (read: pup friendly) textures.
Anyone want to come help me convert the dresser?

I love your guest room inspiration!! It’s going to be beautiful. I just posted about Dorothy Draper Espana knock-off on my blog today. $150 in the DC area.
Love it. Don’t you hate when Craigslist prices skyrocket? Great stuff in your area though. I might have to keep an eye out we’re only an afternoon’s drive away.
hey y’all! raleigh reader, here. there are some overlays (by georgous shiny things) that make a draper knock off easy as pie.
there is a fabric in that color way at lewis and sharon. it’s on their website.
if you find similar lamps to those that aren’t a billion dollars, holler at me because i’ve been looking for a while with no luck.
i’m a friend of jamie meares’ so i’m totally not a weird blog creeper.
Thanks Erin! We actually already splurged on the Schumacher fabric in August, so we have those pillows covered but the overlay is a big tip. Thanks so much! We are absolutely in love with Jamie’s store. I work just around the corner from it and would go hang out with her daily if it wouldn’t be so creepy on my part. Thanks for the tips, I’ll let you know on those lamps :)
