Orange You Glad…
we painted those brass Goodwill lamps?
For eight dollars a pop these beauties were just waiting to be transformed into matching bedside lamps for our master bedroom. They just needed a little infusion of color since nothing in our bedroom is brass or from the eighties… we think.
Here’s how they turned out with a couple of coats of Krylon gloss spray paint. In orange. We also added two medium drum shades from Target which cost us $12.99 each, the same kind of shade we used to upgrade our living room lamps last year.
This photo was taken at night, after we gave each lamp a full day to dry. If you try this at home be sure to tape off all the edges, cords and important pieces of the lamp with painters tape before you begin. This will give your lamp a neater – meant to be orange look rather than a spray painted Goodwill lamp look. We think the high gloss paint helps add to the appearance too.
The bedroom still has a ways to go, but we love the added light on that side of the room as well as the symmetry we get from having two matching lamps. The orange was for sure an interesting color choice but the more they are around the more we’re digging the bright colors. Plus with more wall art and accessories coming to this side of the room they should be toned down a bit as we go.
I’m pretty excited to have a lamp on my side of the bed now too. It’s the little things in life that make me happy.
And just in case you guys are curious as to the look of the whole room, here’s the flip side of our master bedroom, it’s much more put together than the bed’s side. But the entire room is a long way from those bright green and blank walls of about six months ago.

I really like the lamps! Y’all are lucky to fid two matching lamps in the thrift store – we have a hard enough time trying to find two in a regular store lol.
