Who Says?

You can only use one photo frame at a time?

We’re finally getting around to adding some love to the walls in our guest bedroom and not unlike our living room framing adventures we found our Fullsteam Brewery poster a bit too small for the wall we wanted to hang it on.

I realized this after taking a photo of it hanging on the wall.

Yes, you’re also getting a looksie at our guest bedroom wall of fame above the bed – meaning framed photo of friends and family who’ve come to visit doing fun things in Durham. The first picture is from here and the second from here.

But back to the poster. Our first thought was to take it out of the new frame (we had to run to Michael’s and buy one because of the unusual size of the poster) and buy a larger frame with a large white mat to add some umph. Not very creative and we would be buying yet another photo frame for the casa.

But then a little thought and some scavenging led us to this conclusion.

We just hung one of those twenty-five cent frames from the neighbor’s garage sale right around the original frame. It was sitting in the closet just waiting to be used and it makes this wall hanging much more interesting than replacing the frame.  We’ve even thought about adding a fun coat of paint to the outside frame to make it even more punchy - but au natural may be the final word.

It’s literally just hanging up there on a couple of brown (to blend in) panel nails. The definition of easy peasy.

Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone else out there with an unexpected suggestion for making your walls a bit more interesting? Anyone have a garage sale find burning a hole in your pocket closet?
