A More Meaningful Centerpiece

One of our favorite ways to decorate the casa is to switch out our dining room table’s centerpiece.  This usually occurs on the fly with items we already have around the house inside or out. Here’s our latest concoction.

What do we love about this one so much? How personal and fun it is.

We simply threw out our trusty Pottery Barn Great White Platter (It’s too wide to fit into our cabinets, which is why it gets used so often for centerpieces. Plus the design is simple enough to match any decor we’re going for.), a crystal bowl that we received as a wedding gift, the Gurgle Pot I picked up at the Junior League Holiday Market and a tried and true vanilla candle.

The kicker? We filled our bowl with all those loose photos that we all have laying around the house. It was pretty fun to hunt them all down, look through them and enjoy the memories.

The photo bowl is a great way to keep the images accessible, entertain our guests, and relive the memories ourselves. Plus, it’s much less time consuming than creating an album.

There are tons of pics of the pups’ baby days, look at how studly Barton was! That’s him with his first toy ever the day he came home from the pound.  Plus lots of wedding out-takes, pics from childhood, college football games and vacations throughout the years made it to the bowl – not to mention the photographic history of Chad’s hair growth throughout the years (can we say Locks of Love?).

So easy, so memorable and so free. We’re off to go look through them one more time.
