A Little Birdie Told Me

Since a productive Saturday led me to drop 21 items off at Goodwill, and since my goal was only for 20 items, I thought it would be okay to bring something “new” home from the trip.

For 99 Abe Lincolns I scooped up this cute little terra-cotta candle holder.

Pretty sweet and garden-ish as is, but if you know me you know that I l-o-v-e me some white spray paint. So, a couple of coats later we have a new, lovely little candle holder. Sweet deal for 99 cents (we already had the spray paint on hand).

Glossy white ceramic animals are all over the stores and design magazines right now, and there are quite a few that I would love to own for full price (Christmas hint: Z Gallerie rhino on the right hand side of your screen – just sayin’). Scoring a DIY version for less than a buck makes this trend even better and easier to get into.

Any awesome thrift store or garage sale finds out there that you’ve transformed for peanuts?
