Lost and Found

One not so new trend in home décor is the found object. These items are lovingly worn, full of character and can be anything from old photo frames or linens to seen-better-days furniture.  And we have to say that we’re hooked on these truly unique and vintage accessories.

Thankfully there are lots of fantastic places to find these diamonds in the rough, including many online vendors – we’re no longer limited to thrift stores and flea markets.

One fantastic place to find some real beauties is of course Etsy where you can score things like this:

Another great site is Three Potato Four.  Need I say more?

Emily Henderson, the most recent winner of HGTV’s Design Star is the queen of scouting and using found objects.  Check out these lovely pics from her website, Style by Emily Henderson.

Planning a wedding and love these looks? You can also contact Found, a new California-based company that specializes in offering found object rentals for photo shoots and special events like wedding receptions.

Even Pottery Barn has gotten in the game, reminding us that old doesn’t always mean cheap.

So far all we have in our casa is an old Mountain Dew bottle that my mother literally dug up out of the back yard of the house I grew up in – but with Three Potato Four out there, more is sure to follow.
